The Gobenden is a historical structure that once served as the emperor’s temporary place of sojourn, and has now transformed into a museum. When the Imperial Crown Prince, who later became Emperor Taisho, visited the San’in Area in 1907, the Gobenden was utilized as a place for him to stay, and included a throne room where the elite would sit, and an antechamber. These are all featured in the exhibition room found within the museum. Also included in the museum is a study room, a meeting corner, and an information corner.
You can head up to Hamada Castle Ruins by using a path on the side of the parking lot. The view of Tonoura Bay from the summit is particularly exquisite.
