This is a collection of historical documents belonging to the Hayashi family, who were Ai merchants. The Hayashi family served as shoya (village headmen) and kumigashira shoya (the head of the other shoya), and their documents include the town-designated tangible cultural property Myozaigun Bungengunzu, a map of the entire Myozai district which includes Ishii-cho, painted in 1812. It is just as accurate as the maps of today, making it a rare artifact.
