■Commentary
In Sun Yat-sen`s autobiography, "Memoirs of a Chinese Revolutionary," he praises the Miyazaki brothers as comrades who "never failed to support the revolution from beginning to end." Indeed, after Toten and Sun Yat-sen met in Yokohama in 1897, Japan became a base for the revolutionary movement. Furthermore, Toten`s 1902 book, "Thirty-Three Years` Dream," played the historically significant role of helping to introduce Sun Yat-sen to Chinese revolutionaries, leading to the formation of the Chinese Revolutionary Alliance in 1905.

In 1913, two years after the success of the Xinhai Revolution, Sun Yat-sen revisited Arao during his trip to Japan. In his speech to the people of Arao, he said, "I believe that if the people of Japan and China can maintain the friendship between Yazo Miyazaki, Toten, and myself, then for thousands of years to come, not only will our two countries be able to support and warm to each other, but it will also lead to the future prosperity and development of both nations." These words remain the foundation of the exchange between Arao and the areas associated with Sun Yat-sen.
