21.Five Arch Bridge and Imafuku Tunnel Three
■Commentary
The Five Arch Bridge is currently utilized as a prefectural road, making it an active remnant of the Imafukusen line abandoned railroad. If you head down to the side road from the prefectural road, you can look up from the very bottom of the bridge. From the retaining wall on the mountainside, to the two-lane prefectural road on the bridge, there are many components you can see that makeup this intricate structure. It is 11 meters high, and about 100 meters long. The sheer size of the bridge is overwhelming from the view below.
Imafuku Tunnel Three lies south from the Five Arch Bridge and is 190 meters long. It was previously utilized as a prefectural road, however entering the tunnel is currently prohibited. If you take a peek into the entrance, you can see in a straight line all the way through to Imafuku Tunnel Four on the other side.
