The former Yabakei Railway, which ceased operations in 1975, has been preserved and repurposed, allowing visitors to dine and stay inside authentic train cars. In December 2020, the newly opened “Bettei” facility introduced a modern design inspired by the region’s scenic landmarks. Each building corresponds to a single train car, offering guests a unique, private hotel experience that blends comfort with an extraordinary sense of nostalgia. In addition to the train accommodations, the site includes a minshuku (guesthouse) and a large banquet hall, making it suitable for events, parties, and sports training camps.
