02.Reihoku History Museum
■Commentary
The history museum was opened in the reconstructed Nagaya, a row house, at the site of Ninomaru (the secondary compound) of Tomioka Castle, where the fierce battles of the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion were waged. A detailed pictorial map of Tomioka Castle and other various materials are displayed here to show you the history of Reihoku Town. In addition, “Gojoin” (souvenir stamps) are sold here. As this castle endured two fierce attacks without falling during the Shimabara-Amakusa Rebellion, the stamps are said to confer the benefit of “Never losing the battle"” and we recommend them for people facing entrance exams or job hunting.
