When the Furuike Salt Farm had been developed, it is said that the gods Shiotsuchi-no-Oji, Takemikazuchi-no-Kami, and Futsunushi-no-Kami, who were already enshrined at Shiogama Shrine in Mutsu Province (currently Shiogama City, Miyagi Prefecture), were also enshrined at the salt farm in Furuike. The shrine is located on a ridge overlooking the Furuike Salt Farm, with the hall of worship at the front of the shrine grounds and the inner shrine at the back. To the right, one can see Ebisu Shrine, and to the left, the karin (fire ring) of a gorinto (a stone pagoda with five rings representing the five elements), said to represent a kubizuka (a burial mound for severed heads), is enshrined.
